Begin your culinary adventure in the picturesque Getsemaní neighborhood at the designated meeting point (Av. Pedregal #29-225). Upon arrival, enjoy a warm welcome with a refreshing drink as you prepare to dive into the world of Colombian cuisine. Depending on your preference, you can start at either 10:30 am or 5:00 pm and delight in a captivating 3-hour gastronomic experience.
Guided by a professional bilingual chef, you'll learn to prepare a delectable three-course menu using fresh, traditional ingredients from the Colombian Caribbean. The classes vary throughout the week, offering you the chance to cook the renowned Posta Cartagenera, the exquisite Red Snapper Encocado, the savory Seafood Casserole, or the typical Pescado al Cabrito and Arepa de Huevo. If you prefer something light and refreshing, opt for a class focused on crafting Ceviches.
As you follow the chef's expert guidance, you'll uncover local culinary techniques and secrets while the kitchen fills with enticing aromas.
Once your culinary creations are complete, you'll share a meal with your classmates, enjoying the dishes you've crafted, accompanied by a glass of wine and engaging conversation.
Choose from the following menus and preparation days:
1) Posta Cartagenera Menu
* Mote de queso (White soup made of yam and local cheese)
* Posta negra cartagenera (Black Topside beef), served with coconut rice, plantains in temptation sauce, and avocado ají
* Tree tomato in syrup.
>> Available: Monday and Thursday from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, and Tuesday from 5 pm to 8 pm
2) Red Snapper with Coconut Sauce
* Three types of Carimañola (crab, cheese, and ground beef)
* Red snapper in coconut sauce, served with coconut rice and patacones
* Enyucado (Cassava and coconut cake)
>> Available: Tuesday and Saturday from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm
3) Seafood Casserole Menu
* Kibbeh & Baba ganoush (Reflecting Lebanese heritage in Colombia)
* Seafood stew served with coconut rice
* Curuba mousse
>> Available: Wednesday from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm
4) Menu Fish with Goat and Egg Arepa
* Arepa e’ huevo
* Fish wrapped in bijao leaves served with yuca gnocchi
* Corn leaf wrapped candy
>> Available: Thursday and Saturday from 5 pm to 8 pm
5) Ceviches Menu
* Sea bass ceviche with banana and lemongrass emulsion
* Shrimp and snail cocktail
* Vegetarian coconut, mango, and flower ceviche
* Crispy squid and green mango ceviche with corozo fruit and hibiscus.
