We will proceed to Getsemani, one of Cartagena's most lively and well-known neighborhoods. The area is abundant in graffiti, artworks, and murals that showcase the creativity and cultural diversity of the local community. We will explore Calle del Arsenal, a key street in the area featuring works by the "Crew Peligrosos," a collective of urban artists. Among the most notable murals here is the "Peace Mural," which celebrates Colombia's peace process and emphasizes the importance of reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.
Next, we will head to Plaza de la Trinidad, an iconic plaza in the heart of the neighborhood. Here, we will encounter the "Red Shoes Mural," crafted by Spanish artist Mónica Martínez, which depicts the history of slavery in the region.
At the half of Media Luna, another popular location in Getsemaní, we will find the "Mural of Freedom," created by local artist David Chávez. This mural symbolizes the struggle for freedom and social justice, featuring images of both famous and anonymous revolutionary leaders who are significant in Colombia's libertarian history.
Our journey will continue towards the walled city, where near the Puerta del Clock, we will discover the "Mural of Reconciliation," crafted by Cartagena artist Carlos Trilleras.
On Calle de la Sierpe, another iconic street of the walled city, we will encounter the "Mural of Memory," created by Cartagena artist Freddy Rodríguez. This artwork represents the region's history and its fight for freedom.
Featuring images of palenqueras, local flora, and fauna, we will make our way back to the starting point, passing through the Parque de las Flores, where you can admire more urban art and enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
After a two-hour tour, we conclude at the Clock Tower or the Parque de las Flores.
